The Antenna Mast Assembly replacing/ installing procedure.
If you need to replace only the Antenna mast then motor should be in working order.
If the Antenna operating motor is working ok, a simple Antenna mast replacement will save you approx $150. If the entire antenna assembly has to be replaced, plan on major disassembly of Parts.
The Procedure below will help:----
In order to install the antenna mast assembly there is a castle nut or retainer nut that is either chrome or gold if you have the gold package. This nut unscrews from the top of the antenna assembly then the black insert/sleeve has to be pulled out then the new antenna assembly and new insert sleeve are fed into the antenna mast when the motor is turned off when it is in a full retract position the castle nut or retainer nut has to be screwed back down on to keep the antenna assembly in place. If you have a new antenna cord it should come with this new insert. There is a special service tool that is used to go into the before little grooves on top of this nut. You can use a pair of channel locks if you're very careful to unscrew this counterclockwise.
